Tutorial for Archery Nock Tools

Archery Nock Tools come to your packaged as you see it. The tool set consists of one tool bar and three socket tubes. The set is of all brass construction for durability and appearance. The three-nock tool sockets are sized to fit 99% of the possible arrow sizes you will be using. Each socket has three sets of holes drilled in them so you can insert the “tool bar” to accommodate different fletching positions that you might encounter.

You now need to un-screw either end of the tool bar and remove the “sockets” from the tool bar.

The next step is to find the correct tube that fits your arrow and slide the tube up to the fletching. There are three sets of holes in each socket tube so please take note of which set of holes you will insert the tool bar.

This slide shows the fully assembled nock tool. In this case the tool bar has been inserted in the middle set of holes. Depending on the location of the fletching you could have put the tool bar in one of the other two available sets of holes. What you want to do is to be able to have the end of the tool to come as close to the fletching as possible, when it’s slid on to the arrow.

Since this is an arrow that we are going to tune we want to put a mark on the Archery Nock Tool that aligns with the cock feather. A fine pointed marker works well in this operation, blue is a good color ink to use.

Insert the tool on the arrow.

Always turn the nock with the tool in a clockwise direction. This will take up any “play” and keep your adjustments precise.

While putting slight clockwise pressure on the tool bar put a small mark, on the tool, that aligns with the side of the cock feather.

Then using the tool to rotate the nock precisely tune the arrow until the arrow is clearing the bow and arrow rest and you have it just the way you want it to be.

After tuning the arrow remove the mark you made on the tool and put a new mark on the tool of the location of the cock feather on the newly tuned arrow.

Once the Nock Tool has the correct tuning mark, it is a very simple matter to quickly adjust all of the arrows in this set. It’s also extremely easy to check the arrows and make sure the nocks are aligned properly.
